Shahid Khaqan Abbasi set to form his own party

Ex-prime minister says no political party is talking about public issues.

ISLAMABAD: Former prime minister and PML-N leader Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has announced his decision to form his own political party.

Talking to media here, he said he would soon come up with the details and plan of his party. He said political parties have failed to speak and resolve public issues and remained confined to pointing fingers at each other.

He said in order to promote public support, we have to focus on public issues. Unfortunately, political parties have failed to meet expectations of the masses.

The recent elections were highly disputed and if no remedial steps were taken public confidence in the political system will erode to the point of no return, Abbasi added.

He also said that enough was enough, now we have to move forward with the main agenda of serving the masses instead of labelling each other as corrupt.

He was of the opinion that all political parties and leaders should join hand and work for the interest of the nation.

It may be mentioned here that of late Mr Abbasi has been openly criticizing the policies of his party, especially after the PML-N led the coalition government of the PDM following the ouster of former prime minister Imran Khan.
