ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Wednesday strongly condemned the Israeli attack on Iran, at a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi here.
The Iranian foreign minister was on a two-day official visit of Pakistan and met the prime minister in Islamabad. Earlier, he called on Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar at the Foreign Office.
The prime minister stressed the urgent need for an end to the Gaza war in which Israel has killed over 43,000 innocent people including women and children since October 7, 2023.
At the meeting, the two sides also discussed bilateral relations in different sector including energy, trade and border security.
It may be noted that tit for tat attacks by Israel and Iran on each other have added to the rising tension in the Middle East. The international community has urged urgent ceasefire in Gaza but Israel has disregarded the demands so far.
