ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has left for Egypt to participate in the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit and the signing ceremony of a peace agreement aimed at resolving the ongoing crisis in Gaza.
The visit is at the invitation of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and US President Donald Trump, who will co-chair the summit. The Sharm El-Sheikh Summit is the culmination of diplomatic efforts initiated on the sidelines of last month’s United Nations General Assembly session.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s participation highlights Pakistan’s consistent and unwavering support for the Palestinian people, their right to self-determination, and efforts to achieve lasting peace and stability in the Middle East.
He will be accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and other senior ministers during the visit.
