Shehbaz Sharif Departs for Two-Day UK Visit Ahead of US Trip

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif departed for the United Kingdom on Thursday for a two-day visit, during which he is expected to hold important meetings, according to officials

Following his stay in Britain, the prime minister will travel to the United States to attend the United Nations General Assembly session.

During his US visit, Shehbaz Sharif is expected to meet several world leaders on the sidelines of the UNGA. A meeting with US President Donald Trump is also expected.

The prime minister’s visits to the UK and US are part of a series of high-level diplomatic engagements aimed at strengthening Pakistan’s international relations and advancing its interests at the global forum.

The United Nations General Assembly is expected to discuss current international issues such as the US Iran conflict and the resultant fuel supply crises.

A delegation from the Foreign Office of Pakistan is also expected to reach the US for participation in the UNGA deliberations.
