Shehbaz in Washington for Inaugural Gaza Peace Board Meeting

WASHINGTON: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reached Washington today to take part in the opening session of the Gaza Peace Board, where global leaders are set to discuss efforts aimed at promoting peace in Gaza.

The premier is attending the meeting at the invitation of US President Donald Trump. The inaugural session of the Board of Peace will be held on February 19 in the US capital.

Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar is also expected to participate in the meeting and has already arrived in the US capital.

During the visit, Prime Minister Sharif is also likely to hold separate meetings with American officials and other international leaders to discuss bilateral ties and important global developments.

He is scheduled to stay in the United States until February 20.
