ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has more assets abroad than in Pakistan, according to details submitted by him along with hus nomination papers ahead of the 2024 election.
According to the details submitted in the nomination papers to the Election Commission of Pakistan, Mr Sharif’s assets are worth Rs1.4 crore at home and Rs5.4 crore abroad.
The figures on the Fafen website show that before the 2018 elections, Sharif’s assets abroad were worth 146 million and 205 million in the country.
At the time of the elections, President Asif Ali Zardari’s total assets were worth Rs2 billion, which did not include any assets abroad. According to the details submitted in 2018, President Zardari’s total assets were worth 654 million rupees, out of which 990 million rupees were abroad.
The data showed that former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif owns assets worth Rs79 million abroad. His total assets in Pakistan were worth Rs7.40 crore.
Before the elections, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s total assets were worth Rs1.9 billion, of which Rs1.7 billion assets were abroad.
Apart from this, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s assets in Pakistan are worth Rs80 crore while Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Gandapur’s assets in Pakistan are worth Rs96 million. The two leaders do not have any assets abroad.
