ISLAMABAD: US Secretary of State Marco Rubio had a telephonic conversation with Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif during which they discussed bilateral and international isdues.
According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, Prime Minister Sharif held a telephone conversation with U.S. Secretary of State Senator Marco Rubio. The two leaders discussed the situation in the Middle East, expressing concern over regional tensions.
Prime Minister Sharif appreciated the role of President Donald Trump in facilitating a ceasefire between Iran and Israel. He also thanked Senator Rubio for the United States’ key role in supporting the ceasefire between Pakistan and India.
Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening Pakistan-U.S. relations and agreed to continue close cooperation in trade and economic sectors.
Prime Minister Sharif said that Pakistan would continue to play a constructive role in promoting peace in the Middle East.
