Shehbaz Sharif arrives in Tajikistan on two-day official visit

DUSHANBE:  Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Dushanbe on Thursday for a two-day official visit to Tajikistan.

He was received at the airport by Tajik Prime Minister Qohir Rasulzoda and Deputy Foreign Minister Sharafzoda Farrukh Hamdiyon.

Accompanying the Prime Minister are Federal Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar and Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi.

During the visit, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is scheduled to meet with Tajik President Emomali Rahmon. The leaders will discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation across various sectors, including trade, energy, and regional connectivity.

Prime Minister Sharif is also expected to express gratitude to the Tajik President for Tajikistan’s support during heightened tensions between Pakistan and India.

In addition, the Prime Minister will attend an international conference on glacier preservation in Dushanbe. He will brief participants on the impact of climate change on Pakistan, and highlight the country’s efforts and challenges in climate resilience and environmental protection.
