WASHINGTON: Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) leader Gurpatwant Singh has written a formal letter to U.S. President Donald Trump, declaring India a threat to America’s national security.

In the letter, SFJ alleges that Indian intelligence agencies are involved in orchestrating assassination plots abroad, posing a direct danger to the safety and stability of other nations.

The group claims that political and religious persecution of Sikhs in India has intensified, and urges the United States to take notice.

SFJ has requested President Trump to place India on the list of countries facing travel and immigration restrictions. At the same time, the organization has appealed for exemptions for the Sikh community, citing their political victimization and diaspora status.

The letter also accuses Indian outsourcing companies of involvement in visa fraud, calling for stricter U.S. scrutiny of such firms.
