Sikhs Protest Against Indian Defence Minister’s Remarks on Pakistan

TORONTO: People belonging to the Sikh community staged a protest outside the Indian High Commission here in response to a recent statement made by Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh targeting Pakistan.

Carrying Pakistan and Khalistan flags, the protesters raised slogans against the Modi government and voiced strong support for the Khalistan movement.

Addressing the crowd, Sikh leaders condemned the Indian Defence Minister’s comments regarding Pakistan’s Sindh province, saying he should focus on India’s internal challenges instead of issuing provocative statements about neighbouring countries.

They warned that India itself is “on the brink of fragmentation” due to rising dissatisfaction among its minorities.

The Sikh leaders further asserted that Indian Punjab is moving steadily toward separation and will eventually become an independent Khalistan state, reflecting long-standing demands for autonomy and self-determination within the Sikh community.
