KARACHI: The Sindh High Court’s constitutional bench has ordered the registration of a First Information Report (FIR) in connection with the alleged disappearance of two citizens.

The order was issued during the hearing of petitions seeking the recovery of missing persons. Counsel for the petitioner informed the court that the missing individuals were taken into custody by police personnel during a raid conducted at their residence. It was further stated that after the raid, efforts were made to contact Sachal Police Station regarding the detainees.

However, the police station reportedly expressed ignorance about the matter and claimed to have no information about the whereabouts of the missing citizens to date. The court took on record the replies submitted by the concerned parties.

The bench directed the petitioner to approach the relevant police station for the registration of an FIR and formally ordered that a case be registered to facilitate the search and recovery of the missing persons.

The petition was filed by Ms. Rabia Basri for the recovery of Shah Waliullah and Abdul Latif. In her application, the Inspector General of Sindh Police, DIG West Karachi, CTD Civil Lines, SHO Sachal, and others were named as respondents.
