PESHAWAR: At least six people are reported dead and eight injured when a helicopter crashed in North Waziristan on Saturday.
The helicopter with three Russian pilots and 11 passengers on board was chartered by Marri Petroleum.
In a statement, the company said that the MI-8 chopper was chartered for transportation of staff and experts and it crashed near an oilfield in North Waziristan due to some technical fault.
It said that the helicopter developed a fault soon after taking off and while trying an emergency landing its tailrotter hit the land.
It said that security personnel took part in the rescue operation and shifted the injured persons to the CMH Thal from where they were to ve airlifted.
