ISLAMABAD: Six Nigerian nationals have been arrested in Islamabad for supplying drugs to students of educational institutions.
The suspects were rounded up by Anti-Narcotics Force in two swoops carried out in the federal capital.
The ANF said that its personnel arrested a Nigerian national during an operation in Islamabad. During the interrogation of the suspect, he confessed to supplying drugs to students of educational institutions.
On his information, a raid was conducted at a flat located near a hotel in G-13 from where five accomplices of the arrested suspect were also picked up.
During the raid, 135 kg of cocaine, 3.2 kg of ice and other contrabands were recovered. The ANF said that during the investigation the arrested Nigerians confessed to supplying drugs to students of educational institutions and those living in hostels.
It has been learnt that a large numbers of foreigners especially those belonging to African countries were involved in drug peddling in Pakistan.
A parliamentary committee was informed at a meeting by officials of the ANF that a network was involved in supplying drugs to educational in Islamabad and other areas.
