ISLAMABAD: The Bureau of Immigration and Overseas Employment has announced an extension of one month for the deadline regarding the Soft Skills Certificate requirement in Protector Registration for Gulf countries.

This applies to countries such as Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

Initially, this requirement was set to be implemented from February 1, 2026, but now it will come into effect from March 1, 2026. This extension will provide additional convenience to workers and other individuals residing in Pakistan. The decision aims to simplify travel arrangements and enhance employment opportunities for Pakistani workers in the Gulf region.

Authorities have urged applicants to stay updated through official channels for further details and to comply with additional requirements.

Previously, the Bureau of Immigration and Overseas Employment had clarified the new online Protector Certificate requirement for overseas employment. In a social media post, it was stated that some irresponsible elements were spreading unfounded rumors, claiming that starting from February 1, 2026, it would be mandatory for all individuals traveling abroad for employment to obtain the online Protector (e-Protector) certificate.

The authorities have reassured the public that these claims are false and that the certificate requirement will now apply from March 1, 2026.
