ISLAMABAD: The government has made it mandatory for those seeking employment abroad to complete a soft skills certification.

The Bureau of Emigration and Overseas Employment (BEOE) announced that from January 1, 2026, individuals traveling to European countries must obtain this certification, while those heading to Gulf countries, including Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain, and Kuwait, will need it from February 1, 2026.

The requirement applies to all individuals traveling through overseas employment promoters as well as Pakistanis securing jobs directly in these countries.

Before registering with the Protectorate of Emigrants, applicants must complete the soft skills certification.

The certification can be obtained through the OIC’s PakSoftSkills platform or other authorized platforms specified by the authorities. This step aims to ensure that skilled and educated Pakistanis are better prepared for professional challenges abroad.
