South Africa demands arrest of Israeli prime minister for war crimes

Foreign minister says scope of International Criminal Court needs an expansion.

JOHANSBERG: The foreign minister of South Africa has demanded that Israeli prime minister Benjamin Natanyahu should be arrested for war crimes and mass killing of civilians in the Gaza strip of Palestine.

In a newspaper article, Naledi Pandor expressed the hope that the International Criminal Court would issue a warrant for the arrest of Natanyahu.

She demanded that the prosecutor of the ICC should launch sn investigation into the mass killings of civilians and indiscriminate bombings in which over 11,000 civilians including children and women have been killed and thousands of others rendered homeless.

She was of the view that the ICC should launch an investigation into war crimes, crimes against himanity and mass killings.

She said that warrants for the arrest of the Israeli prime minister and some of his ministers should be issued to bring the perpetrators to justuce.

Since Hamas attack on different parts of Israel on October 7, the Zionist state has continued bombing if civilian areas in Gaza. 

The Zionist even did not spare hospitals and refugee camps in which thousands of people were killed. Moreover, Israel also blocked essential food snd medical supplies to the stranded people. 

Mass protests have been held in different parts of the world against the Israeli barbarism calling for an immediate end to the unilateral war but to no avail.
