JOHANSBERG: Pakistan whitewashed South Africa in the one day international series on its home ground, making a record in the cricketing world.

South Africa faced such a humiliation for the first time since it was allowed to play international cricket after the end of apartheid in 1991.

Pakistan won all the three matches of the One Day Internationals series against South Africa.

In the last match played at Jahanesberg, Pakistan scored 309 runs for the loss of nine wickets in the match that was reduced to 47 overs due to rain. Pakistan’s opener Saim Ayub scored 101 runs, his second century.

In reply, the South African team was all out for just 271 runs. Pakistan had also won the two previous matches.
