Approval Process and Next Step

Ahmad clarified that while the design has been completed, work on the production of the new currency notes will commence once the Cabinet grants its approval. He noted that the transition to the new notes will be carefully managed to ensure a smooth rollout.

The introduction of new currency notes comes as part of the SBP’s ongoing efforts to modernize the financial system and curb issues such as counterfeiting.
