KARACHI: Pakistan’s stock market started the day on a positive note, with the benchmark KSE-100 index rising by 836 points to reach 158,706.

This comes after the index had closed at 157,870 points yesterday, following a dip into negative territory at the end of trading.

Traders remained optimistic on the third day of the business week, reflecting a strong start to the market session.

Yesterday, the total trading volume in the stock market amounted to over 29 crore shares, with a combined value of approximately 26.05 billion rupees, highlighting active participation from investors.

In the currency market, the US dollar experienced a slight decrease in the interbank market. According to the Exchange Companies Association, the dollar fell by 3 paisa, bringing its value down to 280.77 rupees.

This minor drop indicates a stable trend in the foreign exchange market, alongside the positive sentiment in the stock market.
