Students showcase projects at science exhibition

CHITRAL: The second Inter-College Science Expo was held at Government College Chitral on Tuesday, aimed at fostering research and innovative spirit among young researchers.

The event was organized under the guidance of the Directorate of Higher Education, providing an opportunity for students from various government colleges to showcase their scientific projects.

In the first segment, students from Government College Chitral, Government Girls Degree College Drosh, Government Girls Degree College Chitral, and Government Girls Degree College Booni presented their projects based on new scientific ideas.

These included generating electricity from biowaste, cultivating saffron and mushrooms, vertical farming, earthquake detectors, sensor glasses for the visually impaired, plant pest control using natural ingredients, and the production of eco-friendly plastic bags.

The projects were evaluated by professors from various colleges and universities, who awarded first, second, and third positions to the outstanding projects.

The second part of the event included a closing ceremony, where the principal of Government College Chitral Musarrat Jabeen expressed gratitude to the guests and praised the efforts of the Science Exhibition Organizing Committee, particularly commending the contributions of Professor Dr. Tanzil Khan and Professor Fazal Haq. Dr. Zahid Fazal presented an overview of the impact of science on our lives.

The event concluded with the distribution of certificates and shields, honoring students who presented the best projects. The program was co-hosted by Lecturer of Islamic Studies Haider Zaman and Dr. Zahid Fazal.
