Our CM is kidnapped/arrested, it’s insult with KP province: Qaiser
Khyber Pakthunkhwa Assembly to meet today, protest to continue under leadership of Azam Swati, says PTI
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek Insaf has said that senior party leader Azam Khan Swati will lead the protest as Khyber Pakthunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur remained untraced even on Sunday morning.
It said that the protest will continue untill a direction to call it off is issued by jailed party founder Imran Khan.
On the other hand, the government has denied that the KP chief minister had been arrested. But sources in the PTI and the KP government expressed surprise over Gandapur’s decision to move to the KP House soon after reaching D Chowk instead of leading the protest.
In a video message on social networking platform of X, former speaker National Assembly and senior PTI leader Asad Qaiser said that Ali Amin has been kidnapped/arrested and such a treatment with the chief minister of a province was an insult with the whole province.
He said that the federal government had violated the constitution and the law and crossed all limits of decency. If the government thinks that the PTI would be forced through such tactics it is mistaken.
He said that the government should free the Khyber Pakthunkhwa chief minister without any further delay. He claimed that the PTI would continue its peaceful protest which was its legal and constitutional right.
Meanwhile, the Khyber Pakthunkhwa Assembly is meeting at 2pm on Sunday to discuss the situation arising out of the disappearance of the chief minister after reaching the KP House in Islamabad.
