ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Friday said attacks on Pakistan by terrorists using Afghan soil can no longer be tolerated, and we will not compromise on security of our country.
Speaking at a meeting of the cabinet, Pakistan had repeatedly asked the interim Taliban regime in Kabul to take action against remnants of the outlawed TTP who were carrying out terror activities inside Pakistan while using the Afghan soil.
Unfortunately, however, the terrorists are still operating from Afghanistan into the territories of Pakistan despite the fact that Islamabad had shared evidence about it their involvement.
The prime minister said that Pakistan would not tolerate any further terror activities from the TTP from Afghanistan as we have the right to defend our interests.
He said that Pakistan and Afghanistan have long and porous border, adding we always want yo have cordial relations between the two countries.
It may be mentioned here that Pakistan’s military carried out two air strikes on militant camps in the Afghan provinces along the border. The Kabul regime claimed that scores of civilians were killed in the attacks.
