BANNU: A terrorist attack on a police checkpost in Bannu was foiled early on Sunday morning, resulting in the killing of three militants, while one police constable was martyred in the exchange of fire.
According to police officials, the terrorists launched an attack on the Fateh Khel checkpost using both light and heavy weaponry. A fierce gun battle ensued between the attackers and the police personnel stationed at the post.
Regional Police Officer (RPO) Bannu, Sajjad Khan, confirmed that the police responded promptly and effectively, killing three terrorists and injuring several others. Unfortunately, one constable lost his life in the exchange of fire.
The RPO further stated that the terrorists carried out the attack during the night, and a search operation is currently underway in the surrounding area to apprehend any remaining suspects.
