Killers of people from Punjab are terrorists, not Baloch: CM

Chief minister says he is in favor of negotiations, but how govt could talks to terrorists who are killing innocent people.

QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti on Monday said that those killing people from Punjab in his province were terrorists, not Baloch.

Addressing a press conference in Quetta, the chief minister said that the terrorists killed 38 innocent people last night. These were not disgruntled Baloch but terrorists who have no religion.

He said the terrorists have not killed people from Punjab, but killed Pakistanis. The chief minister said that all those involved in the gruesome killing of innocent people would not go unpunished. He said 21 terrorists were killed today by security forces. He said all the terrorists involved in the massacre and their facilitators and backers would be eliminated.

The chief minister said that he was in favor of negotiations, but how the government could talks to terrorists who are killing people and working on the agenda of the enemies to harm Pakistan. He said that there was no way to remove any check post. We will set up more check posts where there are a need and would strengthen security forces.

It may be noted that armed people blocked a highway in Musakhel town of Balochistan and shot dead at least 23 passengers after dragging them down from buses.

Armed men also occupied roads and highways in different parts of Balochistan. In a similar incident, armed persons blocked a highway in Qalat and killed 10 people, including four Levies and one police personnel.

The assistant commissioner of Musakhel said armed men stopped buses and trucks on the inter-provincial highway, checked the CNICs of the passengers and shot dead all those from Punjab. The terrorists also set fire to 10 vehicles.
