BANNU: At least three children were killed and two others injured after a house roof collapsed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Bannu district following heavy rainfall, rescue officials said.
The incident occurred in the Waryashmi Kallay Mandan area, where the roof of a house belonging to a man identified as Sher Mohammad suddenly caved in while his five children were inside the room. All of them were trapped under the debris.
Rescue 1122 teams rushed to the scene and launched an immediate operation, successfully pulling out two children alive. The injured were shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital, where they are receiving treatment.
However, two girls and one boy died after being buried under the rubble. Their bodies were later recovered and moved to the hospital.
Residents said recent heavy rains have severely damaged mud houses in the area and urged authorities to take precautionary measures to prevent further incidents.
