Pakistanis express pride over promotion of three NYPD officers

NEW YORK: The New York Police Department (NYPD) has promoted over 140 officers, including three Pakistani-Americans and personnel to higher ranks.

The three officers of Pakistani origin have earned this distinction through their dedication and professionalism.

Captain Waheed Akhtar has been promoted to Deputy Inspector, Lieutenant Muhammad Adnan Ahmed to Captain and Sergeant Fayaz Khan has been elevated to the rank of Lieutenant.

These promotions were announced at a ceremony held at the NYPD headquarters at One Police Plaza. Senior officials, family members of the officers and other guests attended the event.

The Pakistani community expressed pride and joy over these promotions. Community leaders have described these achievements as a testament to the hard work, commitment and professional excellence of Pakistani-Americans.
