MALAKAND/BANNU: Security forces and Levies conducted a joint intelligence-based operation in the Mehrdai area of Dargai, Malakand, resulting in the killing of three terrorists affiliated with the banned outfit Fitna Al-Khawarij. Seven others were arrested during the raid.
According to Deputy Commissioner Hamid-ur-Rehman, gunship helicopters were used in the operation, and a significant quantity of explosives was recovered from the hideout.
In a separate incident in Bannu, terrorists launched an attack on Baka Khel police station using both light and heavy weaponry. However, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police bravely repelled the assault, forcing the attackers to flee.
The successful operations reflect the continued efforts of Pakistani security forces to eliminate terrorism from the region.
Officials say such proactive measures are part of a broader national strategy to ensure peace and stability, particularly in areas that have seen increased militant activity in recent months.
