Three Terrorists Killed in CTD Operation in Jamrud

PESHAWAR: The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Sunday killed three terrorists during an intelligence-based operation in Jamrud area of Khyber district.

According to a CTD spokesperson, the operation was carried out on a tip-off at Naka Kallay located on Shah Kass Bypass Road, where a hideout of the banned outfit Fitna al-Khawarij was targeted.

As a result of the operation, three terrorists were killed, while two of their accomplices managed to escape into the nearby mountainous area. A search operation is currently underway to trace the fugitives.

The CTD said the slain terrorists were active members of Fitna al-Khawarij and were involved in attacks on security forces as well as cases of murder, attempted murder, extortion and other terrorist activities.

During the operation, CTD personnel recovered three Kalashnikov rifles and explosives from the possession of the killed terrorists.

Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the Additional Inspector General of CTD praised the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) teams of the CTD for the successful operation.

They stated that the personnel fighting terrorism with courage and dedication are a source of pride for the nation and reaffirmed the resolve to eliminate terrorism and ensure lasting peace in the province.
