TLP continues protest against Israel by blocking roads

Religious group says govt should officially declare Israeli Prime Minister Natanyahu as a terrorist.

ISLAMABAD: Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) continues a protest by blocking several key roads on a square separating Islamabad and Rawalpindi for the last three days.

Due to the closure of Islamabad Expressway, Murree Road, IJP Road etc., people are facing lots of trouble. Traffic has been diverted to other roads making a mess in both the twin cities.

The leaders of the TLP say that they would continue their protest till the acceptance of their demands. The demands include declaring Israeli Prime Minister Natanyahu as a terrorist by the government of Pakistan, supply of relief items to the people of Palestine and other measures.

The government is yet to take any step to remove the protesters who have spread to greenbelts in Islamabad side and marketplaces in Rawalpindi. The protesters have come from different cities and have blocked all the roads.

The Israeli forces have killed over 38,000 people in Gaza since they launched the war in October last year. The Zionist state has ignored international calls for a ceasefire and even trampled a world court ruling.

It may be recalled that in 2017 the TLP then led by its now deceased chief Khadim Rizvi held a protest sit-in at the same place for 23 days, paralyzing the routine life in the two cities.
