MULTAN: Traders in southern Punjab have announced a protest against the increase in electricity fixed charges and rising petroleum prices, calling for a demonstration tomorrow at 2 PM at Bohar Gate Chowk.
The protest call was issued by trader leader Khawaja Shafiq, under whose leadership the trader community has reportedly united to raise their concerns. He has urged traders to participate in large numbers and show solidarity during the protest.
According to the announcement, convoys of traders from across southern Punjab will head towards Bohar Gate Chowk on Tuesday afternoon to join the demonstration. The traders have warned that if their demands are not accepted, they will expand the scope of their protest movement.
The protest is expected to draw participation from multiple trader associations across the region as concerns grow over increasing operational costs due to higher electricity fixed charges and fuel prices.
