DERA ISMAIL KHAN: A devastating road accident in Dera Ismail Khan’s Darazinda area has left an entire family shattered, as 11 members lost their lives in a single tragic incident.
The accident occurred on Friday in the Dana Sar locality when a Mazda vehicle, traveling from Khanuzai in Balochistan to D.I. Khan, suffered a brake failure and overturned.
According to rescue sources, the ill-fated vehicle was carrying members of the same family, all of whom became victims of the horrific mishap. Rescue 1122 teams promptly arrived at the scene and launched an urgent relief operation. Seven bodies, including five women, one man, and a child, were recovered directly from the wreckage, while four additional bodies were shifted to the hospital with the assistance of local residents. In total, 11 people tragically lost their lives in the disaster.
Alongside the deceased, three survivors were pulled from the vehicle with severe injuries. The injured individuals, identified as Darya Khan (27), Yousaf (10), and Ahmad (25), were provided with immediate first aid before being shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital in Dera Ismail Khan for further medical treatment.
The accident plunged the entire area into mourning, with grief-stricken family members and local residents expressing profound sorrow and disbelief at the scale of the tragedy. The calamity has once again highlighted the recurring dangers posed by mechanical failures and poor road safety conditions in the region.
