ISLAMABAD: A training aircraft from a private flying club crashed near Islamabad Airport on Saturday, injuring both the pilot and the trainee.
The injured were promptly transported to the trauma center at Islamabad Airport for medical care.
In a separate incident, a private airline flight from Islamabad to Karachi narrowly avoided disaster when it collided with a bird during takeoff.
The pilot halted the departure and safely diverted the Airbus A320 to the taxiway. The bird strike caused engine damage, and further inspections are underway. Flights PA 207 and PA 208 between Islamabad and Karachi were subsequently canceled.
