SHARJAH: In the second T20 match of the ongoing tri-nation series, Pakistan defeated the United Arab Emirates (UAE) by 31 runs in Sharjah.
Batting first after winning the toss, Pakistan were bowled out on the last delivery of the 20th over for 207 runs.
Young opener Saim Ayub played a brilliant knock of 69 runs, while Hasan Nawaz contributed 56 runs and Mohammad Nawaz added 25 runs to the total. For UAE, Sagheer Khan and Junaid Siddique picked up three wickets each, while Haider Ali claimed two.
Chasing a target of 208 runs, UAE managed 176 for 8 in their allotted 20 overs. Asif Khan was the standout performer for the hosts, smashing 77 runs off just six fours and six sixes. Skipper Muhammad Waseem added 33 runs, while Prashar scored 15. Pakistan’s Hasan Ali starred with the ball, claiming three wickets, while Mohammad Nawaz picked up two.
Notably, Pakistan rested their frontline pacers Haris Rauf and Shaheen Shah Afridi, bringing in Hasan Ali and Salman Mirza for this match.
With this victory, Pakistan strengthened their position in the tri-nation series, keeping momentum ahead of their upcoming fixtures.
