ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to Syed Ali Gilani, the founding leader of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference, on his fourth death anniversary.
The tribute comes for Gilani’ lauding lifelong struggle for the rights of the Kashmiri people in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
President Zardari said Gilani devoted his entire life to the just cause of Kashmiris’ right to self-determination, standing firm in the face of decades of Indian oppression.
He reaffirmed that Pakistan will continue to champion the voice of the Kashmiri people at every international forum, stressing that Indian tyranny can never extinguish their spirit.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif described Gilani’s unwavering love for Pakistan as a matter of national pride and a symbol of the deep-rooted emotional and spiritual bond between Pakistan and the people of Kashmir.
He said Gilani’s famous slogan, “We are Pakistanis, Pakistan is ours,” still resonates powerfully across the valley and remains a lasting reminder of his legacy.
