WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump in his speech on Wednesday from White House said he has won the (US) presidential election (2020) and will approach the US Supreme Court to stop the controversial vote counting.
Mr.Trump called the election a “fraud” while claimed his victory. “This is a betrayal of the American people,” he said.
Trump said, “we were going to win this election, frankly we have won this election”.
Earlier, Donald Trump had accused the government of trying to steal today’s presidential election. “We are ahead but they are trying to steal the election,” he tweeted.
However US president said in a tweet that “We will never allow them to do that, however, voting cannot take place after the polls close.
Democrat Joe Biden said on Wednesday morning that he believed he was on the “path” to defeat US President Donald Trump.
The 77-year-old former vice president instructed his supporters to be patient, saying “it will not end until every vote is counted.” He is confident of winning the state of Arizona, where Trump won the 2016 election, Biden said.
It should be noted that the US presidential election is being contested in many states. According to US media, polling time has ended in most states while counting of votes is underway.
About 100 million voters had already exercised their voting right before polling day to protect against the Corona virus.
