According to the latest survey by the American Research Group, 68 percent of registered voters disapproved of Trump’s overall performance, compared with 29 percent who approved of the way he is performing as president.

The report said the approval rating had fallen below 30 percent for the first time in the survey during Trump’s current and previous presidential terms.

The poll also found growing dissatisfaction with Trump’s economic performance. Only 26 percent of respondents approved of his handling of the economy, while a large proportion expressed concern about the direction of the US economy.

According to the report, concerns over inflation and rising everyday living costs are influencing public sentiment. Rising fuel prices amid the ongoing war with Iran have also contributed to a growing sense of economic pressure among Americans.

Recent surveys conducted by other polling organisations have similarly pointed to negative public perceptions of the US economy, although Trump’s overall approval ratings have varied from one poll to another.

The White House has defended the Trump administration’s economic policies and rejected the negative picture presented by the survey, maintaining that the US economy remains strong.

A Reuters/Ipsos poll released on September 21, for example, recorded Trump’s overall approval rating at 32 percent, highlighting differences in findings among recent surveys.
