Trump hints at revising his previous immigration policy

President-elect in recent interviews said he was in support of skilled visa program.

WASHINGTON: US President-elect Donald Trump has hinted at revising his previous immigration policy and encouraging skilled workers from around the world to work in the US.

In recent interviews, Trump has repeatedly said that he supported the skilled visa policy for foreigners because under this policy skilled and technical workers from around the world could come and work in the United States of America.

This change by the president-elect in his past policy is driven mostly by Trump’s efforts to augment the US economy by driving in skilled workforce.

Trump during his previous tenure had imposed a ban on the issuance of work visa to foreigners. However, during his election campaign in 2024 he had indicated that he was ready to provide legal cover to stay in the US who complete their education in the American universities.

Observers are of the opinion that this change of policy was also a result of Trump’s efforts made during hus election campaign to win the support of immigrants. This is also going to be a positive indication for professionals who want to move to the US from different parts of the world.
