The survey found that 66 percent of Americans disapproved of Trump’s performance, while 31 percent said they approved of his job as president.

The poll also showed that if elections were held immediately, 47 percent of respondents would vote for Democratic candidates, compared with 35 percent who would support Republicans.

According to the survey, 68 percent of Americans were dissatisfied with Trump’s handling of the economy. Meanwhile, 40 percent said they trusted Democrats more than Republicans to manage economic issues.

The report also suggested that rising fuel prices following military strikes on Iran had contributed to the decline in Trump’s approval rating.

The findings come as both major political parties prepare for the upcoming midterm elections, which will play an important role in determining control of Congress.
