BANNU: At least two people were killed and around 40 others injured when a roofed structure collapsed in the Kotka Ghulam Qadir area near Shahbaz Azmat Khail Adda amid heavy rainfall.
According to Rescue 1122, several individuals had taken shelter under the structure to avoid the rain when it suddenly gave way, trapping dozens of people beneath the debris.
Rescue teams promptly arrived at the scene and launched a large-scale operation to clear the rubble and evacuate those trapped. Injured victims were shifted to nearby hospitals for medical treatment.
Hospital authorities confirmed that two people had died as a result of the collapse, while several of the injured are in critical condition.
Officials have advised citizens to exercise caution during adverse weather conditions and avoid taking shelter under weak or unsafe structures to prevent similar incidents in the future.
