Two killed in blast in Peshawar’s Nasir Bagh area

Rescue official says explosives planted in motorcycle went off in Board Bazar.

PESHAWAR: At least two persons were killed and one was injured in a blast in Nasir Bagh area of Peshawar on Sunday morning, Rescue 1122 said.

According to an official of the emergency service, explosives planted on a motorcycle went off at Board Bazar. Law enforcement agencies have cordoned off the area and shifted the dead bodies to hospital.

“As per preliminary and unconfirmed reports, explosives were planted in a motorcycle parked in the area,” a Rescue 1122 official said.

The blast created panic in the area though there was no rush as markets open quite late on the weekend.

Terrorists have become active in the province who carry out blasts and attacks on law enforcement agencies frequently.

This is despite the fact that law enforcement agencies carry out operations against the terrorists.

A day earlier, 10 terrorists were killed in an intelligence-based operation by security forces in the tribal district of North Wazirstan.
