Two Light Aircraft Collide Mid-Air Near Sydney, One Pilot Killed
SYDNEY: Two light aircraft reportedly collided mid-air near Sydney, resulting in the crash of one plane and the death of its sole pilot.
According to police, the incident occurred near Wederburn Airfield, where rescue teams later recovered the pilot’s body from nearby bushes.
Preliminary reports suggest that the two planes collided during flight, causing one aircraft to crash into a nearby forest. The other aircraft managed to land safely at the airfield, and its pilot was unharmed.
The Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) has launched an investigation to determine the cause of the collision. Police have sealed off two locations in the area, designating them as crime scenes.
