Two Pakistani Migrants Die On Iran-Turkiye Border

TEHRAN: Two Pakistani migrant youth have died near the Iran–Turkey border, Pakistani officials confirmed on Monday.

According to the Pakistani embassy in Iran, the incident occurred near the Khoy area, close to the border region.

Pakistan’s Ambassador to Iran Mudassir Tipu said one of the deceased Pakistani was identified as Armanullah, who lost his life while attempting to cross the border.

A spokesperson for the Pakistani embassy stated that initial reports suggest the two youth likely died due to extreme cold and hunger. The harsh weather conditions in the border areas are believed to have contributed to the tragedy.

The embassy said that arrangements are being made to repatriate the bodies of the deceased to Pakistan at the earliest.
