Four Pakistanis killed, several injured in Muscat

Pakistan's Ambassador to Oman Imran Ali Chaudhry says injured are being treated in different hospitals.

MUSCAT: Six people including four Pakistanis were killed and several others injured in a terrorist attack carried out near a mosque on the suburbs of the Omani capital of Muscat.

Pakistan’s Ambassador to Oman Imran Ali Chaudhry confirmed the death of the four Pakistanis in the attack that occurred in Wadi Al-Kabir.

The local police have said so far there is no details about the motive and who carried out the attack. They said a total of six people lost their lives while security forces killed three terrorists. 

Armed persons stormed the area and took several people hostage. Over 30 people were also injured, including many Pakistanis, who were being treated in different hospitals. 

Later, the police and military personnel reached the area and evacuated the hostages.
