KURRAM: Two police personnel were martyred when terrorists launched an attack on a police checkpost in the Chinarak area of the Kurram district.
According to police sources, the attackers opened fire on the checkpost, resulting in a gunfight between the militants and the security forces.
The police personnel who lost their lives in the attack were identified as Constable Wahid and Constable Fazlur Rehman. Constable Azghar was injured during the exchange of fire. The militant group has been identified as part of the Kharijite faction, which has been active in the region in recent months, carrying out attacks against security forces and civilians.
Police launched a counterattack, killing at least four militants and injuring six others. A heavy exchange of gunfire continued between the militants and security personnel in the area.
