PESHAWAR: In a counter-terrorism operation in Lakki Marwat, two terrorists were killed and five were arrested alive, officials confirmed.
According to reports, the police intensified operations against insurgents. Yesterday, an operation was conducted in Takhti Khel area targeting terrorists who had previously attacked local residents via drone strikes.
The operation involved the Lakki Marwat Police, Elite and Al-Buraq Forces, Rapid Response Force, Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD), and members of the local peace committee. Considering the terrain, APCs (armored personnel carriers) and anti-drone guns were deployed to neutralize threats.
During the operation, security forces engaged the terrorists in dense forests and difficult terrain, killing two and arresting five alive. Although two tires of a police APC were damaged by gunfire, all personnel remained safe.
Inspector General Zulfiqar Hameed and Regional Police Officer Bannu Sajjad Khan praised the personnel for their bravery. He said protecting the lives and property of citizens is the top priority, and hailed the security forces for risking their lives in the line of duty. He vowed to track down cowardly terrorists to their safe havens and eliminate them.
