Two terrorists killed in separate encounters with security forces

ISPR says two army personnel also embraced martyrdom while fighting terrorists in North, South Waziristan.

RAWALPINDI: The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Tuesday said two security personnel embraced martyrdom while taking part in separate operations in Wazirstan on Monday.

The operations conducted in North and South Waziristan districts also left two terrorists dead, it said in a statement.

“The first engagement occurred in Asman Munza area of South Waziristan where the troops effectively engaged the terrorists’ location.”

According to the statement,  one terrorist was killed while one was injured in this incident. During intense exchange of fire, one soldier also embraced martyrdom.

In another intense fire exchange in Miran Shah area of North Waziristan, one terrorist was killed while one soldier embraced martyrdom.

The ISPR said combing operations in these ares were being carried out to eliminate any terrorists in the area.

It may be mentioned here that since the Taliban takeover of Kabul, terrorists have attacked Pakistan’s security forces in areas close to the Afghan borders. 

These terrorists were earlier driven out mostly from the tribal areas if Pakistan who took shelter in Afghanistan later.

On September 6 this year, a large number of terrorists infiltrated into border villages of Lower Chitral and killed five security forces personnel.

The ISPR, in its statement, reaffirmed Pakistan’s determination to wipe out the menace of terrorism. It said the sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve.
