CHICAGO:  Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States Rizwan Saeed Sheikh engaged with Pakistani-American business leaders and industry representatives during a business roundtable hosted by the Pakistani American Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce (PACCC).

The Consul General of Pakistan in Chicago, Mr. Tariq Karim, also participated in the event.

The gathering brought together prominent entrepreneurs and executives from diverse sectors, including textiles and apparel, technology, energy, healthcare, and venture capital. Discussions focused on strengthening bilateral trade, enhancing institutional linkages, and expanding business-to-business partnerships between Pakistan and the United States.

In his address, Ambassador Sheikh highlighted the central role of the United States as Pakistan’s largest export destination and reaffirmed the government’s determination to expand trade and investment ties in the years ahead.

He underscored Pakistan’s competitive advantages, citing a young and skilled workforce, attractive investment incentives, and rapidly developing infrastructure. He further emphasized Pakistan’s strategic geographic position as a hub for regional connectivity, linking South Asia, Central Asia, and the Middle East.

The Ambassador also briefed participants on the mandate of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), describing it as a single-window platform for international investors and a guarantor of policy continuity.

He invited American businesses to seize emerging opportunities in information technology, agriculture, energy, healthcare, mining, and minerals, noting Pakistan’s commitment to facilitating long-term, mutually beneficial partnerships.

Leaders of PACCC, including President Naveed Anwar and Dr. Tariq Butt, outlined the chamber’s objectives since its launch in April 2025. They explained that PACCC was established in close collaboration with the Consulate General to promote economic cooperation, foster diaspora-led entrepreneurship, and build institutional bridges between the two countries.

Consul General Tariq Karim praised the PACCC leadership for transforming the chamber’s vision into reality and noted the growing momentum in Pakistan’s trade and investment engagement with the U.S. Midwest. He reaffirmed the Consulate General’s commitment to supporting diaspora businesses and strengthening ties with credible partners in Pakistan.

Participants expressed strong interest in organizing future trade delegations, investment forums, and promotional initiatives aimed at broadening economic cooperation. They assured the Ambassador of their continued support in advancing shared objectives and deepening commercial relations between Pakistan and the United States.
