DUBAI: The United Arab Emirates has introduced a new category under which endowment donors can be granted the prestigious Golden Visa.

This move comes as part of a strategic collaboration between the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs – Dubai (GDRFA-Dubai) and the Endowments and Minors Affairs Foundation (Awqaf Dubai) to support donors contributing to humanitarian causes.

The two entities signed a cooperation agreement during GITEX GLOBAL 2025 at the Dubai World Trade Centre, aimed at strengthening institutional partnership and integrating humanitarian work into Dubai’s broader social and developmental ecosystem.

The signing ceremony was attended by Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Merri, Director General of GDRFA-Dubai, Ali Mohammed Al Mutawa, Secretary General of Awqaf Dubai, along with senior officials from both organizations.

Lieutenant General Al Merri described the partnership as a reflection of GDRFA-Dubai’s ongoing efforts to enhance government-community collaboration and honor contributors supporting Dubai’s humanitarian vision. He stated, “This agreement represents an important model of government integration that empowers donors to play a vital role in the development of the community.”

The new visa category is expected to encourage further philanthropic contributions and bolster humanitarian initiatives across the UAE, positioning Dubai as a global hub for social development and charitable giving.
