LONDON: The United Kingdom has announced new sanctions targeting Iranian individuals and an entity for their involvement in serious human rights violations.
According to a report from London-based news agencies, the UK government has added 10 Iranian individuals and one entity to its list of sanctioned parties.
The UK government stated that these sanctions were imposed in response to the individuals and entity’s role in severe human rights abuses. As part of the sanctions, the assets of those listed will be frozen, and they will face travel bans, preventing them from entering the UK or transiting through British territories.
These measures come as part of ongoing international efforts to hold those responsible for human rights violations accountable.
