ISLAMABAD: The British High Commissioner to Pakistan, Jane Marriott, has announced the introduction of a new e-visa facility for Pakistani citizens, aimed at simplifying the visa process for students and workers seeking to stay in the United Kingdom for more than six months.
In a post on her X (formerly Twitter) account, the High Commissioner stated that the UK is launching a “simple and secure” e-visa system in Pakistan.
Under this new system, eligible applicants will no longer be required to submit their physical passports, allowing them to retain their passports while the visa is processed.
Marriott advised all travelers to ensure that their e-visa is correctly linked to their current passport, emphasizing the importance of accuracy to avoid travel issues.
She also directed applicants to the official UK government website to check their eligibility for the new facility and to review detailed procedural guidelines.
